The prepaid Target REDcard was a fun card to have a couple of years ago. You could load the card Visa or Mastercard gift cards for example with no fee. That all stopped back in 2015.
Now Target REDcard, or REDbird as it was known, will be discontinued on August 13th. You can use it for billpay or withdraw funds till then/ After that the card will be closed and they will mail you a check for the remaining balance. Not a big loss now, but it was still useful to get 5% discount at Target. You can apply for their REDcard debit or credit card to get the same discount.
