Some Priority Pass Lounges Are Now Charging a Reservation Fee

Priority Pass has one of the largest networks of airport lounges with over 1,200 locations all over the world. Priority Pass membership comes as a free perk with several credit cards. But that means that many people have free access, so overcrowding has become a problem at some of their lounges. Now they are offering a booking option with a fee at some locations that guarantees you entry.

Currently the affected lounges are all in the UK. By paying a fee of just £5 ($6.60) per person you will be securing your entry to the lounge. The fee applied to adults and children aged 2-11. The reservation fee is an additional charge, which secures a place for you in the lounge. The visit itself will be processed through your Priority Pass Membership. The Priority Pass card must be valid on the day of your visit and should be presented at reception on arrival. Here’s the lounges that have this option:

  • Birmingham (BHX)
    • No1 Lounge
  • London-Gatwick (LGW)
    • My Lounge (North Terminal)
    • No1 Lounge (North Terminal)
    • No1 Lounge (South Terminal)
  • London-Heathrow (LHR)
    • No1 Lounge (Terminal 3)

Guru’s Wrap-up

The new booking option for about $6.60 is only available at a handful of lounges in the UK for now. There’s other locations in those airports that don’t have the fee, and even a restaurant. Let me know what you think of this. A positive move that guarantees you entry, or just a way to squeeze more profit for Priority Pass members?
