The Brazilian woman who went viral after refusing to give up her pre-selected window seat to a crying child says she has officially filed charges against the airline and the passenger who filmed her. Castro says the incident began during boarding when she noticed a child sitting in her designated seat. Since she had selected the window seat in advance, Castro expected the child to move to another seat.

Alaska MVP members can earn bonus miles for new AND renewing CLEAR+ memberships
CLEAR+ is currently offering a $10 discount for all Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members, dropping it from the (recently increased) price of $209, back to $199 (which is what it was until recently. Even better, Mileage Plan members with some level of MVP status earn 1,500 bonus miles when signing up, but perhaps even more interestingly MVP members can earn 1,250 bonus miles when renewing or reinstating their accounts.

French air traffic controllers’ walkout disrupts early summer season travel
French air traffic controllers began a two-day strike on Thursday to protest against staff shortages and ageing equipment, leading to hundreds of flight cancellations just as the summer season gets under way. France’s civil aviation agency DGAC told airlines to revise their schedules, including at Paris’ Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport – one of Europe’s busiest hubs – forcing the carriers to cancel flights.
