Hyatt Announces Agreement to Sell Playa’s Owned Real Estate Portfolio to Tortuga for $2.0 Billion

Hyatt Hotels announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell the entirety of Playa’s owned real estate portfolio, acquired from Playa on June 17, 2025, for $2.0 billion to Tortuga Resorts (“Tortuga”), a joint venture between an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners, LLC and Rodina. Hyatt can achieve up to an additional $143 million earnout if certain operating thresholds are met. The real estate transaction is expected to close before the end of 2025 and is subject to regulatory approval in Mexico and other customary closing conditions.

Oman Air joins oneworld alliance

Effective 1 July, oneworld customers can access an extended network of destinations across Oman Air’s growing global schedule — including the launch of a new non-stop Muscat–Amsterdam service. As a full oneworld member airline, Oman Air will provide oneworld Emerald, Sapphire, and Ruby customers with benefits including earning and redeeming miles, earning status points, priority check-in and boarding and lounge access. Likewise, Oman Air’s top tier customers will gain access to oneworld priority benefits including a network of nearly 700 premium airport lounges globally, as well as newly opened oneworld branded lounges in Amsterdam’s Schiphol and Seoul’s Incheon Airports.

BermudAir to launch new airline linking Baltimore and Boston to the Caribbean

BermudAir, the startup airline known for its signature cocktails and nonstop flights to Bermuda, is expanding to a second Caribbean island this winter: Anguilla. The carrier will launch “AnguillAir” with a dedicated Embraer E-Jet and its own “identity and design” in December, BermudAir said June 26. AnguillAir will initially connect the island’s Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA) with two destinations already served by its sister airline: Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).
