New Citi Strata Card
🔃 Update: The Citi Strata Card is now live online for new applications.
Citi announced today the Citi Strata Card, a new, no-annual fee credit card. The Citi Strata Card is a redesign of the existing Citi Rewards+ Card with increased benefits and more opportunities to earn ThankYou Points.
The new card, which will launch for new applications later this year, will have a welcome bonus of 30,000 ThankYou points.
But there’s also bad news as two features of the Citi Rewards+ card are going away. Let’s check out the full details.

Bonus ThankYou® Points are not available if you received a new account bonus for Citi Strata℠, Citi Strata Student, Citi Rewards+® or Citi Rewards+ Student account in the past 48 months or if you converted another Citi credit card account on which you earned a new account bonus in the last 48 months into a Citi Strata℠, Citi Strata Student, Citi Rewards+® or Citi Rewards+ Student account.
Existing Citi Rewards+ cards will automatically convert to the new Citi Strata Card on July 20, 2025 and new customers will be able to apply later this year.
Card Details
- 5x points on Hotels, Car Rentals and Attractions booked on Citi Travel
- 3x points at Supermarkets
- 3x points on Select Transit and at Gas and EV Charging Stations
- 3x points on an eligible Self-Select Category of your choice. Eligible categories include Fitness Clubs, Select Streaming Services, Live Entertainment, Cosmetic Stores/Barber Shops/Hair Salons or Pet Supply Stores.
- 2x points at Restaurants
- 1x points on All Other Purchases
For customers that opened their Rewards+ card before July 20, 2024, the Round Up and 10% Points Back features will no longer be available as of July 20, 2025 when the new Citi Strata Card benefits go into effect. Those who opened their Rewards+ card after that date (from July 20, 2024 through July 19, 2025), will continue to have access to Round Up (which rounds to the nearest 10 points on every purchase) and 10% Points Back (on the first 100K ThankYou Points redeemed per year) until July 19, 2026.
Guru’s Wrap-up
Citi Strata is the latest addition to the recently introduced Strata family which started with the Citi Strata Premier. Now we have the Citi Strata card as the no-fee option, and we should soon see the Citi Strata Elite card as well, possibly as a replacement for the discontinued Citi Prestige.
The list of benefits on the rebranded card doesn’t have the 10% Points Back rebate for the first 100,000 points redeemed per year. The new card is also missing the Round Up feature to the nearest 10 points on every purchase.
On the other hand the card has new earning categories and a good signup bonus for a no fee credit card. Cardholders will permanently earn 5x points on Hotels, Car Rentals and Attractions booked on Citi Travel, 3x points at Supermarkets, 3X at select categories such as gyms, entertainment and more, and 2x points at Restaurants.
New applicants can also get 30,000 ThankYou points once the card goes live later this year. All that is pretty good for a no-fee credit card.
