JetBlue has become the first major U.S. carrier to charge $30 for a first checked bag on its flights.
The price is increasing by $5 and is effective for trips booked starting Monday. JetBlue also raised the fee for a second checked bag by $5 to $40 and for a third piece to $150 from $100.

This is a big shift in just a few years for JetBlue. Until 2015 they didn’t charge anything for first checked bags.
Delta, American and United all charge $25 for the first bag and $35 for the second. Southwest Airlines Co. is the only large U.S. airline that doesn’t charge for a single checked suitcase.
