HSBC Rewards Points
The points you earn with these HSBC credit cards are worth 1 cent each when redeemed for statement credit. Premier cardholders can redeem for 1.5 cents per point as statement credit for travel expenses. That would make the HSBC Premier World MasterCard signup bonus worth $600.
Points can also be transferred to three partner airlines, British Airways, Singapore Airlines & Cathay Pacific.
These points technically do not expire. But, if there’s 12 months of inactivity on your HSBC card, HSBC Bank can close your credit card account. If that happens, all of your accumulated points are immediately forfeited and will not be available for redemption.
Conclusion
The HSBC Premier World MasterCard offer is the only one that’s probably worth checking out. But you need to have a Premier banking relationship with HSBC to apply and also to redeem at 1.5cpp. For most most people these cards might not be worth the hassle.
