Delta Expands with Rome and Barcelona Routes
Today, Delta Air Lines announced that they are launching two new nonstop routes out of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA): Barcelona (BCN) and Rome (FCO). The daily Barcelona route will launch on May 6, 2026, while the Rome service will begin on May 7.
This Delta news dropped soon after Alaska Airlines announced nonstop service to Rome by May 2026 earlier this month, igniting further, fierce Seattle hub competition between the two airlines. Alaska is giving Delta a run for its money with it’s international expansion through Hawaiian Airlines to destinations like Japan and South Korea, and Delta is following suit.
