Bank of America Application Rules
- There’s no hard limit on the number of Bank of America credit cards that you can have at one time. But as most other banks, there’s a total credit limit that the bank is willing to extend to you based on your stated income, credit score and other factors. If you hit that limit, then you might need to move credit around to get approved for new credit cards.
- Bank of America has a 2/3/4 rule. That means that there’s a limit of two cards in the last two months, three cards in the last 12 months, and four cards in the last 24 months. This applies to Bank of America cards only.
- Then there’s a 3/12 or 7/12 rule, which applies to all newly opened cards. 3/12 is for those who don’t have a Bank of America deposit account, and 7/12 for those with a deposit account. So if you have a Bank of America checking account, you will only be declined for a new cards if you already have a total of 7 new cards in the last 12 months.
- It’s possible that they merge multiple applications in the same day into just one hard pull.
Guru’s Wrap-up
This is the best ever offer for the Alaska Airlines Business Card. You can earn 75,000 miles when you apply and are approved for this card. Plus you can still get some value out of the Companion Fare.
But one issue is that Bank of America is not easy to deal with when it comes to business applications. They might ask you for extra information such as tax returns or pay stubs for verification and you could still end up being denied after all that work.
On the positive side, Bank of America business cards don’t report to your personal credit report. That’s an important detail for those who re worried about Chase 5/24. Otherwise you can also check out the personal card which has a similar offer.
