United TravelBank Not Triggering American Express Platinum Airline Incidental Credit

The American Express Platinum credit cards offer an annual $200 airline incidental credit. This credit has normally worked for a variety of purchases that are not exactly incidentals, with one of those being United TravelBank purchases.

Credit for United TravelBank purchases have not posted recently. Now some people have told by phone reps that United TravelBank no longer works for the incidental credit as of February 5, 2026. Delta is another option that might be patched soon. You can see more discussions on FlyerTalk as well.

Just last week we saw American Express start clawing back credits for Delta Stays.
