United Airlines 2024 Status Match and Challenge
United Airlines has revealed the details for its 2024 MileagePlus® Premier® Status Match Challenge promotion. Top-tier flyers of many other airlines can use this offer to receive a comparable status in the MileagePlus program. This offer is valid for requests received between January 5, 2024, and December 20, 2024.
Program Details
If you meet the criteria to participate in the Premier Status Match offer, your account will be upgraded to Premier Silver, Premier Gold or Premier Platinum status for 120 days based on the level you hold in your current frequent flyer program. 2024 Premier Status Match requests are available for offer periods that begin no later than September 3, 2024, and end by December 31, 2024.
You may still sign up for a 2024 Premier Status Match between September 4 and December 20, 2024, however you must elect to start your 120-day challenge period no later than September 3, 2024. Qualifying flights taken after September 3, but prior to registration will be considered.

How to Request Your Status Match
To be considered for Premier status through this promotion, please complete this MileagePlus Premier Status Match Challenge form. We will send you an email to let you know if your request is approved.
Required information:
- MileagePlus account number (If you are not yet a member, join today.)
- Valid email address on your MileagePlus account.
- A digital copy of your 2024 membership card, including membership cards stored in the digital wallet on your phone or your airlines mobile app version, for the frequent flyer program you are matching from or if you do not have a card, your most recent mileage statement. The membership card/documentation must clearly identify your:
- full first and last name
- current elite status
- current elite status expiration date or validity period, which must be valid through the duration of the current calendar year.
- the frequent flyer number
- the frequent flyer program and/or Airline name
You will need to wait 7-14 business days for a response and for your account to be upgraded to the equivalent MileagePlus Premier Status.

If you are looking to switch your loyalty to United, or if you just have some upcoming United flights, then this MileagePlus status match promotion is worth looking into. You will receive elite status for 120 days, and then you have the option to complete flying and spending requirements to extend that status through January 2025.
Just keep in mind that it’s best to complete requirements starting July 1st, so you can keep your MileagePlus Premier status through January of 2026.
