Synchrony Ends Relationship with Stash Hotels

Synchrony issues the Stash Hotel Rewards Visa Card. I have covered the card in the past, when they had a 50K bonus that turned out to be a targeted offer 10K bonuses were issued instead. Now Synchrony and Stach Hotels are ending their partnership.

The agreement between Synchrony and Stash for the Stash Hotel Rewards Visa Card Program has ended, and as a result, all accounts are being closed on 12/11/2018. Your membership with Stash Hotel Rewards and any points you have earned to date with your credit card spend are not impacted by this change (other than returns that happen after the closure of the card program, which may impact rewards previously earned, pursuant to the terms of the Stash Hotel Rewards program).

Synchrony Ends Relationship with Stash Hotels

It’s not completely clear what will happen to the Stash Hotel Rewards Visa Card. From the notice it looks like they will just shut down the account, but they could just be converted to something else. I reached out to Synchrony for more information but I haven’t heard back yet.

On the other hand, Stash Hotels are offering the following to make up for the loss of the credit card:

For the next YEAR, you’ll earn extra points when you book on our site. No codes, coupons, or vouchers needed – just log in and book your next stay at www.stashrewards.com.
You’ll earn:

  • 3 additional points per $1 spent on any Stash Partner Hotel bookings. That’s 8 points per dollar total.
  • 2 additional points per $1 spent on any other hotel booked through our site
  • 10% back on all redemptions

Remember, the points you earned with the Stash Card are yours to keep. Like all Stash points, they never expire. Use them whenever you’re ready – 5 days from now, 5 years from now – we’ll be here, and so will your points.

Do you have the card?
