Staples, $3 Off Activation Fee on $100 Visa Gift Cards (Sept. 13-19)

Staples No Fee Visa Cards

Staples Visa Gift Cards Promotion

Starting September 13, and running through September 19, Staples will run a new Visa Gift Card promotion. This one is a little different from past deals, and not quite as interesting. You only get a $3 discount and you need to purchase $100 Visa gift cards. It could still make sense if you need some points now, but most people will probably skip it.

Get $3 off the purchase fee when you buy a $100 Visa® Gift Card.

Offer Terms

  • Valid 9/13/20-9/19/20.
  • In store only.
  • The Visa Gift Card is issued by MetaBank

How To Liquidate Gift Cards

Visa gift cards can be liquidated by buying money orders at Walmart or at various grocery stores and other locations. The PIN is already set as the last 4 digits of the card number. The can also be used for bill pay at Walmart and Kmart. If everything else fails, you can always use them everywhere Visa is accepted and you’re still earning 5X on every purchase.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

Not the best deal from Staples, considering that we saw a no fee promotion recently and $5 off $200 Visa gift cards before that. That’s probably the reason why there’s no limit mentioned in the terms this time around. If you do plan on taking advantage of this promotion, make sure you use a Chase Ink Cash/Plus card that earns 5X. And remember that Chase Ultimate Rewards points can now be redeemed for 1.5 cent on select purchases, if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
