New Staples Mastercard Gift Card Promo, No Purchase Fee Plus 5X Rewards (Oct. 25-31)

Staples Visa Gift Card Promo

Staples Mastercard Gift Card Promo

Staples is currently running one of their popular Visa Gift Card promotions. But next week it will have another promotion for Mastercard gift cards.  You can buy $200 Mastercard gift cards with no activation fee at all. That fee is normally $6.95. So this is a good opportunity for free credit card rewards, especially when combined with one of the Chase Ink cards [5X Ultimate Rewards] or Amex SimplyCash Plus [5% Cashback].

Offer

No purchase fee (a $6.95 value) when you buy a $200 Mastercard® Gift Card. You should see the promotion in stores.

Offer Terms

  • Offer valid 10/25/20-10/31/20.
  • This card is issued by MetaBank®, N.A., Member FDIC.
  • Limit 5 per customer per day.
  • While supplies last.

How to Maximize Profits

This is probably the best Mastercard Gift Card deal we have seen. With the new limit of 5, you can purchase $1,000 in Mastercard gift cards per day. You can do that at multiple stores daily, so you could easily rack up rewards if you are blessed with multiple locations nearby. Plus there’s no rebates and waiting for a gift card in the mail. Some stores might even let you make multiple purchases of 5 cards.

For every $200 Mastercard gift card you buy, you can earn 1,000 Chase UR points if you’re using your Chase Ink Plus/Cash card. With the Amex SimplyCash Plus card you get $10. So that’s 5,000 UR or $50 if you buy the limit of 5 cards.

How To Liquidate Gift Cards

Mastercard Gift Cards are not as easy to use as Visa. You can still use them at Walmart to purchase money orders, but you need to quickly hit cancel on the keypad after swiping to switch to debit and it doesn’t always work. You can also use them for bill pay at Walmart and Kmart. Also check out smaller local stores near you that sell WU money orders. And if everything else fails, you can always use them for everyday spend everywhere Mastercard is accepted.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This is a good opportunity to earn more credit card rewards. Remember, this only applies to $200 Mastercard gift cards. With the new limit of 5, it is easier to make larger purchases at the same store. Some locations were limiting people to just 1 or 2 cards in the past during promotions.

Also remember that Chase Ultimate Rewards points can now be redeemed for 1.5 cent on select purchases, if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
