Starting on Sunday 6/30/19, through 7/6/19, there’s a new Staples Visa Gift Card promotion. This follows the trend started a couple of months ago with no fee gift cards, but it’s even better now as you can purchase Visa instead of Mastercard gift cards for free. This is a good opportunity for free credit card rewards, especially when combined with one of the Chase Ink cards [5X Ultimate Rewards] or Amex SimplyCash Plus [5% Cashback].
Staples Visa Gift Card Promotion
No purchase fee (a $6.95 value) when you buy a $200 Visa® Gift Card.
- Valid 6/30/19–7/6/19.
- In store only.
- Limit 1 per customer. All trademarks are property of their respective owners.
- The Visa Gift Card is issued by MetaBank®
How to Maximize Profits
This is probably the best Visa Gift Card deal we have seen. Limit is 1, but you can usually do multiple transactions. Plus there’s no rebates and waiting for a gift card in the mail. But, you’re limited to $2,000 in gift card purchases every day.
So for every $200 Visa gift card you buy, you can earn 1,000 Chase UR points if you’re using your Chase Ink Plus/Cash card. You could also try a Amex SimplyCash for 5% back.
There’s also a Staples Amex Offer which would be the best option. You can get 10% back, up to $50 in savings. Just be aware that Amex has been clawing back credits if you go over $50 per person with multiple credit cards.
How To Liquidate Gift Cards
Visa gift cards can be liquidated by buying money orders at Walmart or at various grocery stores and other locations. The PIN is already set as the last 4 digits of the card number. The can also be used for bill pay at Walmart and Kmart. If everything else fails, you can always use them everywhere Visa is accepted and you’re still earning 5X on every purchase.
This one is probably the best we have seen as it involves Visa gift cards and seems to be more scalable as there’s no household limit. I would suggest going to your nearest location early on Sunday because stock runs out quickly. And remember, this only applies to $200 Visa gift cards. Bring your Ink cards!
