A quick update. I wrote a week ago that Southwest Airlines announced its intent to serve the following four airports in Hawaii:
- Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Oahu (Honolulu; HNL)
- Lihue Airport in Kauai (LIH)
- Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole in Hawaii (KOA)
- Kahului Airport in Maui (OGG)
I expected California airports to be on top of the list for these Hawaii flights, and that’s the case. Today Southwest announced that initially they will fly non-stop to Hawaii from:
- Oakland (OAK)
- San Diego (SAN)
- San Jose (SJC)
- Sacramento (SMF).
Specific routes are not yet available for purchase.
