Southwest Gives Out Free Drinks on 4 Holidays

All passengers of legal drinking age can order one complimentary alcoholic drinks while flying Southwest during these holidays: Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Southwest’s Birthday, and Halloween.

Southwest’s drink menu includes a variety of spirits, wines, and beers, as well as canned cocktails. If you’re on a flight to Hawaii, you can even choose Hawaiian specials, like Kona Brewing Big Wave Golden Ale or Kula Toasted Coconut Rum. You can see the full menu here.

Free Drink Days

These are the four holidays when you can snag a free drink aboard a Southwest flight:

  • Valentine’s Day 2/14
  • St. Patrick’s Day 3/17
  • Southwest Birthday 6/18
  • Halloween 10/31

How to Get Free Drinks on Other Days?

The only other option you have to get free drinks on Southwest flights, is to book a Business Select seat. This will get you a coupon that’s good for one free premium drink in-flight. That’s in addition to long with priority boarding and Fly By check-in.

Previously, you could get free drink coupons when you booked 10 qualifying flights with Southwest. However, the airline stopped that program during Covid and never resumed it as far as I know.
