Santander Bank has an amazing business checking account bonus available, but it’s sadly a targeted one. Only the business to which the corresponding letter or email is addressed is eligible for this offer. You have to open it in branch it look like, but for $500 it’s well worth it if you have a code. This bonus has been around before, it’s just even easier to get now.
Requirements
If you were targeted, then the requirements are pretty simple. This is what you need to do:
- Open a new Santander Business Checking or new Santander Business Checking Plus account on or between 1/15/16 and 3/30/17
- Maintain an average daily ledger balance of $1,000 or more for the first 90 days after account opening
Fees
The best option is the Business Checking account which comes with a $15 monthly fee. It can be waived with one of the following options:
- $5,000 average daily checking account balance, or
- $10,000 combined business deposit balances, or
- Make three debit card purchases with your Santander Business Debit MasterCard, or
- Receive one or more Santander Merchant Services payments deposited into the account, or
- Receive $50 or more in Account Analysis service fees

- Must not currently have nor have had any business checking account with Santander Bank in the last 12 months
$250 Bonus For Merchant Services
To receive the $250 merchant bonus, your business must not currently have, nor have had, any Santander Merchant Services account in the last 12 months, and your business must do all of the following:
- Open a new merchant processing account with Santander Merchant Services, powered by First Data, between 01/10/17 and 03/31/17 and keep it open for 90 days
- Link your new Santander Merchant Services processing account to a Santander Business account
- Have $250 or more in Santander Merchant Services payments deposited into your account within the first 90 days of merchant account opening.
You will receive a $250 bonus in your linked Santander business checking account within 30 days of meeting all offer requirements. This probably comes with fees, which I didn’t look at.
