Qantas Still an Amex Transfer Partner
A brief disappearance of Qantas Frequent Flyer from the American Express Membership Rewards transfer partner page caused some concern among points enthusiasts this week.
For a short period, Qantas was nowhere to be found on the transfer partner list, leading some to speculate that American Express may have quietly ended the partnership. Given the recent wave of loyalty program changes across the travel industry, the concern wasn’t entirely unfounded.
As it turns out, there was no bad news to report. Qantas returned to the Membership Rewards transfer page later in the day on June 1st, and American Express confirmed that the disappearance was simply the result of a technical issue. In a response to an inquiry, Amex stated: “It was just a tech glitch.”
For now, Membership Rewards cardholders can continue transferring points to Qantas Frequent Flyer as usual, with minimum transfer starting from 500 points.
