People’s United Bank, $100 Checking Bonus is Back Again

People’s United Bank is offering a $100 bonus for opening a personal checking account, just like they did a few months ago. The offer is not available online. You must visit their Stop & Shop in store locations to apply and there’s no coupon or promo code. Open e Plus Checking account, which has no monthly fees, complete the requirement (see below) and the $100 will deposit by 11/20/2015.

People's United Bank

To receive the bonus you must complete one of the following requirements:

  • Receive at least one direct deposit of at least $100 into the new checking account within 60 days of account opening
  • Obtain a debit card that is linked to your new account and then use the debit card to make at least 10 purchases of $25+ each within 60 days of account opening

It is just $100 but you can easily fulfill one of the requirements. Considering that there’s no monthly fees and no minimum balance, makes this a no-brainer if you live in NY, CT, NH or VT and have a Stop & Shop nearby.

You’re not eligible if you had this checking account in the past 180 days.

They have branches inside Stop & Shop. You can just stop buy and open a checking account, just like you would do at a normal bank. It’s actually a more relaxed environment imo
