Norwegian Air has been in financial trouble for quite some time now. The budget carrier will axe a number of routes in Europe and to the U.S and the Middle East, shutting several bases as part of a cost-cutting plan announced last month. The airliner will close its bases in Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife in Spain, as well as in Stewart and Providence in the United States.

But it seems that’s not enough. They have also cut back on perks for some of its passengers. One Mile at a Time wrote a couple of days ago that Norwegian had changed their lounge access policy for Premium passengers, seemingly without notice. Premium passengers would no longer receive lounge access, unless they had purchased a much more expensive PremiumFlex ticket. If you booked a Premium seat before December 21, 2018, you will still receive lounge access at eligible airports. If you book after that, you’re out of luck.

Today, Wandering Aramean writes that Premium Economy passengers will also have to start paying for booze on-board. Cocktails and mixers are no longer given out for free to those in Premium seats. Only free wine, beer and soft drinks available.
