New Law Loosens Tax Form Requirements
The new bill just signed into law on July 4, 2025 includes two changes in tax form reporting. One change is regarding the 1099-K tax form and goes into effect for year 2025 and beyond. The other is regarding the 1099-MISC tax form and goes into effect for year 2026 and beyond.

JetBlue Launches Sweepstakes to Bad Bunny’s No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí Residency
JetBlue today announced its official sponsorship of the highly anticipated “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” concert residency beginning July 11 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. As part of the fun, JetBlue is giving customers a chance to experience the show in person. Starting today through July 18, JetBlue is launching a national sweepstakes to award five lucky winners a trip to Puerto Rico to see the concert in person. Winners will receive a pair of roundtrip flights to San Juan on JetBlue and a pair of tickets to the “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” residency shows on Aug. 29 or 30. Winners will be selected randomly and announced by July 23.

Porter Airlines now bookable using Alaska Airlines miles
A couple of years ago, Alaska Airlines launched a partnership with the Canadian airline Porter Airlines. Up until now, it wasn’t possible to redeem Mileage Plan miles for those flights, but that’s recently changed. Even better, there’s some excellent value to be had depending on your travel routes/dates.

More airline lounges are coming to the Miami airport
American Airlines is enhancing the travel experience at Miami International Airport by expanding its VIP lounge offerings. The airline plans to build a new Flagship lounge and expand the existing Admirals Club, nearly doubling the lounge space available to frequent travelers.

Bank of America Updating Their Bill Payment System On August 23rd
BofA has a convoluted way to set up auto-pay to pay their own credit cards, and it must be done through a separate Bill Pay system instead of directly. After August 23rd, hopefully the system will be streamlined for ease of use.

Why I Accepted This Ratty Delta Gold Upgrade Offer
Mark says “circumstances forced my hand a bit and I went hunting for a Delta Gold upgrade offer. Since I had already had all of the Delta cards, including the Delta Reserve (which negates all other offers) I didn’t need to worry about family rules here. I was just looking for some kind of offer to turn my Delta Blue card into a Delta Gold card.”
