New Pay Yourself Back Categories for Chase Aeroplan Card
Beginning this month, Pay Yourself Back® on the Chase Aeroplan Card will be available for purchases at select department stores and on select utilities. Each point redeemed through Pay Yourself Back for a statement credit towards qualifying purchases in promotional categories is worth $.008. That means 100 points equals $.80 in redemption value. Valid through December 31, 2025.
Looking ahead, in October, Pay Yourself Back will also be available for purchases at Amazon.com. Redemption values will be shared closer to launch and will be valid through December 31, 2025.
The above categories are in addition to the other redemption opportunities available to Chase Aeroplan cardmembers, including the ability to redeem points for purchases with 45 partner airlines:
- Home Improvement Stores and Gas Stations. Each point redeemed through Pay Yourself Back for a statement credit towards qualifying purchases in promotional categories is worth $.008. That means 100 points equals $.80 in redemption value. Valid through December 31, 2025.
- Travel purchases, which includes hotels, car rentals, ride-shares, flights and more. Redemptions are at 1.25 cents per point (e.g., 8,000 points for $100 statement credit).
- Annual Fee. Redemptions at 1.25 cents per point (e.g., 8,000 points for $100 statement credit).
- Dining and Grocery. Redemption at 0.8 cents per point e.g. 12,500 points for $100 statement credit).
Guru’s Wrap-up
It’s always a good thing to have more redemption options. However, I doubt many people will redeem points for department stores and utilities at a value of 0.8 cents per point. Hopefully Amazon will offer a better value.
