Avianca LifeMiles is once again offering a 115% bonus just for transferring LifeMiles from one account to another. For every LM 1,000 you transfer from your account to a relative or friend, they will receive 115% more miles! Promotion valid from December 7, through December 22, 2023.
Keep in mind that there’s a fee for transferring miles. So you will not be able to just generate free miles by transferring them between accounts. You have to pay $15.00 + taxes for every LM 1,000 transferred between accounts.
Once you run the numbers, you end up paying about 1.3 cents per mile, which is a decent deal. You can also earn credit card rewards for these purchases, which code as travel. With The Platinum Card® from American Express for example, you earn 5X Membership Rewards points on airline purchases, up to a maximum of $500,000 points per year (then 1X).

Guru’s Wrap-up
Looks like an awesome offer at first, but you need to pay $15 plus taxes for every 1,000 LifeMiles that you transfer. Plus we have seen bonuses for 125% in the past. Could still be useful for those who have a good redemption in mind. If you need more LifeMiles, you can transfer from the following programs:
- 1:1 from
- 2:1.5 from Capital One
- 1:1 from Citi ThankYou Rewards
- 3:1 from Marriott Bonvoy
