IHG One Rewards Launches New Global Promotion
IHG One Rewards has launched a new “Pick Your Points” global promotion, offering unlimited bonus points for your stays. Whether you’re planning a quick weekend road trip or a week-long tropical escape, you can now choose how you want to be rewarded. Let’s go over the details.
Offer Details
Pick your preferred path for piling up points between May 20 and August 31, 2026.
- If a member registers for the 2,000 Points Offer, the member can earn 2,000 IHG One Rewards bonus points each time they complete two (2) Qualifying Room Nights during the Promotion Period, with unlimited earning ability.
- If a member registers for the 8,000 Points Offer, the member can earn 8,000 IHG One Rewards bonus points each time they complete four (4) Qualifying Room Nights during the Promotion Period, with unlimited earning ability.
A member can only register for one of these two offers. Once a member has registered, the member is only eligible for that offer and cannot register for the other offer.
Important Terms
- Members can pre-register for this Promotion starting May 6, 2026 through May 19, 2026 (the “Pre-Registration Period”). Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under either the 2,000 Points Offer or the 8,000 Points Offer beginning May 20, 2026 and ending on August 31, 2026 (the “Promotion Period”).
- Members who did not register during the Pre-Registration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period.
- The first Qualifying Stay must occur after registration and within the Promotion Period. Stays completed prior to registration for this Promotion, even if they occur during the Promotion Period, will not qualify for earning.
- By registering for the Promotion, a member is accepting these Terms & Conditions.
- For purposes of this Promotion, a “Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night.
Guru’s Wrap-up
If you aren’t sure how many nights you’ll actually stay, it’s a safer bet because you get a reward every two nights. But, if you are certain you will stay at least 4 nights (or multiples of 4), then you should choose the second option to get 8,000 points. If you stayed those same 4 nights under the first option, you’d only get 4,000 points.
Don’t forget that these bonus points are in addition to the base points you already earn as an IHG One Rewards member. If you hold an IHG credit card or have Elite Status, your total points haul per stay could be massive.
