Office Depot and Officemax have a new gift card deal starting this Sunday, this one for Five Back Visa gift cards. You can save $15 instantly when you buy $300 or mores. This great offer comes with a instant discount that already turns in a small profit before you leave the store.
Previous offers also had a limit of 2 which allowed you to get 2 discounts on the same transaction when purchasing $600 in cards. Now the limit is only 1.
Offer Terms
- Limit 1 offer per customer.
- Discount applied at register.
- Offer valid 10/22/17 – 10/28/17
Maximizing The Offer
The Five Back Visa gift cards sold at Office Depot and OfficeMax are variable load cards from $20 to $200 with a $6.95 fee. To qualify for the instant discount, you need to purchase two of these. That would cost you $413.90, but after $15 instant discount, your final cost will be $398.90. That gives you a $1.10 profit
These deals are best when combined with a Chase Ink Cash/Bold/Plus credit card since they earn you 5X Ultimate Rewards at office supply stores. That gives you 1,995 UR points when purchasing two gift cards. You can also use a Amex SimplyCash Plus card which earns 5% cashback, or $19.95.
You can get another $4 total through their rewards program which gives you 2% back, but it’s capped at $200 per quarter.
Guru’s Wrap-Up
This is one of the best deals that we see from Office Depot and OfficeMax so if you have a location nearby, it’s definitely worth a trip. This is also a good timed deal to add more Ultimate Rewards points to your balance, especially after yesterday’s news that PPDG and CardCash no longer earn 5X. As for the “five back” part on these Visa gift cards, you can see all the eligible merchants here. There’s no Office Depot or OfficeMax locations near me, but luckily there’s also a Staples gift card deal coming next week.

Checked 2 stores locally and neither have the Five Back cards. No signage either. Bummed.
Oos or they just don’t carry them at all?
One location didn’t have a rack for them and the emplyee wasn’t familiar, so I assume they don’t carry at all. Called second store, and they said sold out.
Oh ok. Thanks for info.
never bought these, any problem buying MO’s at Walmart?
Nope. Should work.
