Discover is targeting select cardholders with an offer to earn extra cashback now through the end of September. This offer is different from the quarterly 5% categories where Discover it cardholders can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in purchases at Gas Stations & EV Charging, Public Transit, and Utilities. Check out the details below.

Offer Details

There are different versions of this offer:

• Earn an extra 6% cash back at Walmart on up to $1,000 in new purchases through September 30, 2025. That’s up to $60 extra cash back at Walmart in addition to your standard Discover® rewards!
• Earn an extra 4% cash back at Walmart on up to $1,000 in new purchases through September 30, 2025. That’s up to $40 extra cash back at Walmart in addition to your standard Discover® rewards!

Walmart purchases include those made at Walmart.com, through the Walmart app, in-store at Walmart Discount Stores, Walmart Supercenter Stores, Walmart Neighborhood Market Stores, Curbside Pickup, Walmart +, and Walmart Gas Stations. Purchases using Walmart Pay with your Discover Card will also be included.

The offer is targeted and was sent out by email. You must activate the offer through the link provided in the email, before making a purchase.

Important Terms

• Purchases may not earn 6% if made on the same day you activate 6% and that activation is after Discover processes your purchases.
• Purchases from individual merchants and stand-alone stores within physical Walmart locations may not be eligible for this promotion.
• Sam’s Club purchases are not eligible.
• Purchases made through affiliates of Walmart.com are not a part of this promotion.
• Purchases must be made with merchants in the U.S. To qualify for 6%, the purchase transaction date must be before or on the last day of the offer or promotion.
• For online purchases, the transaction date from the merchant may be the date when the item ships. Discover does not determine the transaction date. Some merchants may provide a transaction date that may be different than the day the purchase was initiated.
• Rewards are added to your account within two billing periods of the end of the promotion.

This is a good offer that can come in handy for your everyday shopping. You already earn 1% cash back on all purchases (or 2% within the first year of card membership) with the Discover it card. So you can now earn a total of 7% cash back for Walmart purchases.
