Don’t Fall For This Amazon Amex Offer
If you check your Amex credit card accounts today, you will see an Amex Offer for Amazon purchases. That’s usually a good sign as these offers will normally get you extra points for your Amazon purchases.
But this new Amazon Amex Offer is a different one. It requires you to spend $50 worth of Membership Rewards points. Here’s the offer:
- Earn 1,500 additional Membership Rewards® points (up to 3 times) after using your enrolled eligible Card to redeem a minimum of 7,143 points for $50 towards one or more qualifying purchases using “Shop with Points” online at Amazon.com or through the Amazon app by 5/3/2026.
So you need to use 7,143 points for $50 worth on Amazon purchases and you get 1,500 points back. That means that you’re using 5,643 points for $50 value, or 0.89 cents per point. While that’s better than the normal Amazon redemption rate of 0.7 cents per point, it’s still a bad deal.
