Delta Flash Sale: Australia from 25K SkyMiles Round Trip
Delta is running an unadvertised SkyMiles flash sale with some excellent redemption rates to the South Pacific and Asia. The best prices are generally available from the West Coast, but discounted awards can also be found from many cities across the U.S.
Travel dates vary by destination, with Australia and New Zealand availability primarily in November and December, while Asia has availability in August and September.
Thrifty Traveler Premium was first to report these deals and Frequent Miler also added a few more routes.
Sample round-trip pricing includes:
- Brisbane: from 30,000 SkyMiles (or 25,500 with the Delta TakeOff 15 cardholder discount)
- Auckland: from 40,000 SkyMiles (or 34,000 with TakeOff 15)
- Sydney: from 50,000 SkyMiles (or 42,500 with TakeOff 15)
- Hong Kong: from 50,000 SkyMiles (or 42,500 with TakeOff 15)
- Taipei: from 58,000 SkyMiles (or 49,300 with TakeOff 15)
Many itineraries are available as one-way awards for roughly half the round-trip price. The lowest pricing is generally for Delta Basic Economy awards, though Main Cabin can often be booked for a modest mileage premium.

If you have flexible travel dates and a Delta SkyMiles balance (or Membership Rewards points) this is an good opportunity to grab some cheap awards. Delta Amex cardholders should see even better pricing thanks to the automatic TakeOff 15 discount. Availability is likely to disappear quickly, so it’s worth searching sooner rather than later. Keep in mind that these are very long flights in economy, about 12 to 15 hours or more in the air.
