Chase Pop-Up Issues
🔃 Update: Some people in DoC comments are also reporting that they see the 100K bonus tracker in the account after getting pop-up during Chase Sapphire Reserve application and opting to continue without the bonus.
With the launch of the revamped Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, Chase also introduced a new application pop-up similar to American Express.

So you would assume that if for whatever reason you are not eligible for a bonus on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, then you withdraw the applications and nothing happens.
Well something is happening some people. They’re getting approved for a shiny new Chase Sapphire Reserve card anyway, as reported by FM. There are at least two people who report getting approved by Chase after they selected to cancel their application.

It looks like Chase has not worked out all the kinks of the new application pop-up.
The bank will likely work with you if you are approved this way and will probably make sure to close the card and have it removed from your credit report.
But maybe it would be easier to just give those few people the welcome bonus when Chase makes a mess like this?
