Eligibility

This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months.

Also this card falls under the Chase 5/24 rule, so you will not be approved if you’ve had 5 or more new credit cards in the last 24 months. That’s any 5 cards, not just Chase cards.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

Earning 3% back on all purchases for a year is a great offer, but this time around the extra earning is limited to only $20,000 in spending. This Chase Freedom Unlimited 3X bonus was unlimited last year. The bonus is even better if you combine a Chase Freedom Unlimited card with a Ultimate Rewards earning card. You can transfer the points and use them as Ultimate Rewards with a Chase Sapphire Preferred, Reserve, Business Ink Preferred or the old Ink Plus cards. With a Chase Sapphire Reserve card for example you can get a 1.5 cents per point value when booking through Chase portal. That makes this Chase Freedom Unlimited offer a 4.5% everywhere for a year.

The bad news is that many people won’t be able to apply since the card falls under the Chase 5/24 rule.
