American Express to Open New Centurion Lounge at Amsterdam Airport

Today American Express announced plans to expand the Centurion® Lounge Network – which currently includes 29 lounges worldwide – with a new Lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).

The space will feature a Dutch-inspired design that celebrates Amsterdam’s local culture and heritage with work from local artists, floor-to-ceiling windows offering an abundance of natural light, and locally inspired food and beverage menus. The newly constructed lounge is expected to open between Concourse E and F in 2026.

“With a large number of American Express Card Members traveling through Schiphol each year, the new Centurion Lounge will be an important addition to our growing global Centurion Lounge Network,” said Audrey Hendley, President, American Express Travel. “We know travelers are looking for authentic, local experiences when they travel, and the new Centurion Lounge will deliver a premium experience and amenities with a taste of Dutch history and culture.”

At nearly 6,000 square feet, the Lounge design features a rich palette of blues, greens and earth tones that evokes Amsterdam’s famous waterways and tranquility, while the lines, proportion and repetition represent the iconic canal houses of the city. A coffee bar will pay homage to the drink’s importance in Dutch culture as a ritual to unwind and connect with one another, contributing to the Lounge’s overall feeling of “gezellig” – a local phrase to describe a comforting, pleasant and convivial atmosphere.

The new Centurion Lounge will be home to the signature amenities that eligible Card Members expect such as premium dining and bar, dedicated workstations, abundant outlets and USB ports, premium food and beverage options, several seating areas, complimentary access to high-speed Wi-Fi, and more.

Meeting More Card Members in More Places Worldwide

The American Express Global Lounge Collection gives eligible card members access to more than 1,550 lounges worldwide, including 29 Centurion Lounges.

American Express continues to expand and enhance the Centurion Lounge Network with plans announced to open new lounge locations at Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in Salt Lake City in 2025 and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey in 2026.
