Capital One Debit Cards Switch to Discover Network
Capital One is switching its debit cards from Mastercard to the Discover payment network. If you have a Capital One debit card, then you might have received a new card in the mail in recent days, or will receive one soon.
The new card will have the same PIN but will have a different 16-digit card number, 3-digit security code (CVV) and expiration date. it will also have the Discover Network, PULSE® and Diners Club International® logos in the back.

Once you activate the new card, your current debit card will no longer work. Some recurring payments may go through at first but will soon stop. You’ll need to update your card information wherever it’s saved to avoid interruption.
This change comes soon after Capital One completed the Discover acquisition earlier this year. That gave Capital One a debit and credit card network. You can find more details about the switch here. For now there are no changes to Capital One credit cards.
