Capital One Adds Capacity Tracker and Digital Waitlist for Airport Lounges

Capital One Digital Waitlist Lounges

Capital One Adds Capacity Tracker and Digital Waitlist for Airport Lounges

Airport lounges have become quite popular in recent years, thanks to premium credit cards that offer complimentary access. But popularity also brings big crowds. So just like American Express Centurion Lounges, and Chase Sapphire Lounges, Capital One lounges have also seen a large influx of visitors.

Capital One launched its own network of airport lounges in 2021 and currently has three locations. You can find Capital One Lounges at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)Denver International Airport (DEN) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) outside Washington, D.C. Another Capital One lounge is coming to Las Vegas.

While lounges offer a great opportunity to relax and refuel before flights or between connections, customers are often in a time crunch. To help address some of the pain points travelers often face, Capital One has been exploring tech-forward ways to manage lounge capacity and ultimately, provide a best-in-class Capital One Lounge experience for guests and better meet the needs of our customers.

As such, Capital One is announcing new, innovative digital features in the Capital One mobile app that allow cardholders to view the capacity of Capital One Lounges in real-time and enable Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business cardholders to virtually join the waitlist when a Lounge is at capacity. This can be easily done from the convenience of their phone before they arrive to a Capital One Lounge.

Whether our customers are en route to the airport or taxiing to the gate, these new features put control directly into our customers’ hands, enabling a seamless and efficient airport experience. These new features are now live in the Capital One app for a majority of eligible cardholders and will continue to roll out to the remaining eligible cardholders in the coming weeks.

How It Works

To navigate to these new features, Capital One cardholders can take the following steps once signed into the Capital One mobile app:

  1. On the Capital One mobile app homepage, select Travel (denoted by an airplane icon), within the Explore Rewards & Benefits tile
  2. Once on the Travel page, select Lounges
  3. Below the Search Bar, select the Capital One Lounge you wish to see real-time availability for
  4. You will then be able to see details about the Capital One Lounge location you’re interested in, including the real-time availability

If the Capital One Lounge is on a waitlist, Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders will be able to join digitally via the Capital One mobile app by taking the following steps:

  1. When the Capital One Lounge is on a waitlist, from the Capital One Lounge location page in the Capital One mobile app, select Join Waitlist
  2. Provide your name, phone number, and party size, and then slide the button to join the waitlist
  3. You will automatically return to the Capital One Lounge location page where you will be able to view your confirmation and anticipated wait time; we will also text you this information
  4. When it’s your turn to enter the Capital One Lounge, you will be notified via text and within the Capital One mobile app on the Lounge location page. You will have 15 minutes to arrive; you can let us know via the Capital One mobile app if you’re on your way, running late, have arrived, or are no longer coming

In addition to these new features, all travelers may still join the waitlist in person at any Capital One Lounge reception desk and will be notified via text when it is their turn to enter the Lounge.

Capital One Lounge Access

Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders can enjoy unlimited complimentary access, plus complimentary entry for two guests per visit, and special pricing of $45 per visit for additional guests. Just show an eligible card or digital lounge pass, available in the Capital One Mobile app.

Kids under 2 are welcome for free, and all other travelers can enter the Lounges for $65 per visit.
