While the terms say that the offer is targeted, it has worked in the past even for those that didn’t receive the offer directly.
Guru’s Wrap-Up
We have seen this bonus before and it is usually targeted. This offer states that it cannot be transferred, but the language is not as prohibitive as in previous offers. Even with previous offers there’s been report of successful applications, but keep in mind that you can only get these bonuses once.
These are both great bonuses, so if you’ve never had any checking or savings accounts with Capital One you should definitely apply. The checking bonus only requires two direct deposits of $250 and the Money Market bonus requires a $10,000 that you can withdraw immediately. The Money market account does have a decent rate though, 1.10% APY for accounts with balances of $10,000 or more.
