Barclays Hawaiian Airlines Card Is NOT Going Away

The merger between Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will result in a new combined loyalty program called Atmos Rewards. Atmos will replace the current Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles programs on October 1st and we expect Alaska to share more details on August 20th.

But one unknown has been the fate of Barclays Hawaiian Airlines card and whether it will change or be discontinued. Thanks to Award Wallet we have an answer for the latter.

They have received confirmation from Barclays that the Hawaiian Card will remain open to new applicants for the “foreseeable future.” Doug Villone — Head of Cards and Partnerships, Barclays US Consumer Bank — told AwardWallet that they just renewed the “partnership agreement with Hawaiian Airlines in July 2024, and our consumer and small business credit card program will remain intact for the next several years” He also added that they “will continue to acquire new customers”.

With that said we still do not know what the future hold for this card and how it might change after October 1st.
