Amex Business Gold Fee Going Up?
American Express has sent out surveys about the Business Gold Card in recent days. These emails went out to select members only, who were also offered a $25 bonus for filling it out.
We see these Amex surveys from time to time, and in the least it points to the fact that they are looking to update Business Gold Card. The information included in these survey hints at some of the options they may be considering but it doesn’t mean that we will actually see some/all of these changes become reality.
With that said, there are a few interesting things in the survey. First the annual fee is jumping from $375 to $495. That’s more than the what we paid for the Amex Platinum card 10 years ago.
Then there are some new credits and earning opportunities mentioned such as:
- 5X points on flights and prepaid hotels booked through AmexTravel.com
- $300 ChatGPT Business Credit
- $240 Notion Credit
- $240 Xero Credit
- $250 LegalZoom Credit
- $100 Resy Credit
There’s also an interesting design option, a 24K Gold-Plated Card after spending $100,000 in a calendar year.
