American Express has become pretty generous with referral bonuses lately. You can refer people to any American Express credit card, and you can get great bonuses as well. But as I’ve warned in the past, stay away from self referrals. American Express has been clawing back these bonuses for many people. It’s safer to just have a friend or family member refer you.

Now there’s some good new for those who have the Amex Blue Business Plus credit card. The referral bonus has been increased to 15,000 Membership Rewards points per each person you refer. This bonus is usually 10,000 points only. The annual limit is still at 55,000 points per card. So now you can maximize it with 4 referrals, instead of 6 that you would need previously.

The signup bonus hasn’t changed for the Amex Blue Business Plus card. You still get 10,000 points for spending $3,000 within three months.

With the increased referral bonus, this is now one of the best cards to use for referrals. It’s only matched by the Amex Platinum card that also offers 15,000 for each referral. There’s also the Business Gold Rewards card that has the best referral bonus out there, 20,000 Membership Rewards points.
