Alaska Airlines Now Offers Up to 3X Miles on Lyft Rides
Alaska Airlines launched a partnership with Lyft in 2022, offering Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members 1 miles for every $1 spent on rides. That relationship is now getting more rewarding as of July 17, as you can earn twice as much on all rides and 3X on more expensive rides.
Beginning July 17, linked Alaska Mileage Plan riders can earn:
-
2x miles per $1 on all everyday Lyft rides including Standard, Priority Pickup, and XL rides
-
3x miles per $1 when taking airport rides or choosing elevated modes like Extra Comfort, Black, or Black SUV
How it Works
As long as your accounts are actively linked and Alaska Mileage Plan is selected as your preferred travel partner in your Lyft profile, your rides will earn miles.
To make sure your accounts are actively linked, visit the Connected Apps page on Lyft.com. You should see a “Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan & Lyft Partnership” in the Connected Apps section if your accounts are linked.
To make sure Alaska Mileage Plan is selected as your preferred travel partner:
- Open the Lyft app and tap “Rewards” in the menu
- Scroll to the “Travel Rewards” section and tap “Select a partner”
- Tap on Alaska Mileage Plan
Guru’s Wrap-up
This is a nice boost for those who value Alaska Airlines miles. But Alaska is also a Bilt Rewards partner, and you can already earn 2X Bilt Points on Lyft rideshare when you link your Bilt Rewards and Lyft accounts. You can then transfer those points to Alaska at 1:1 ratio.
Bilt Points give you more flexibility as you can also transfer to other partners like Hyatt. But it could be worth selecting Alaska miles for airport rides or Extra Comfort, Black, or Black SUV since you earn 3X.
Also keep in mind that you can earn an additional 5X points when using select Chase credit cards to pay for your Lyft rides, at least through September of 2027.
