Amazon Prime Day Will Take Place October 13/14

Amazon seems to be preparing for its annual Prime Day event, which should kick off in a few weeks. The information comes from an internal Amazon email obtained by The Verge. It says that a two-day shopping event will take place on October 13 and 14. The official announcement is expected to be made on September 27.

Prime Day is an annual event that started in 2015. It is typically held in July. Amazon usually tries to add more Prime subscribers during the event and promotes Amazon’s products and services. But there’s also plenty of deals from third party sellers.

The company confirmed in July that it would postpone Prime Day and the event would take place in the fourth quarter. It has also told third-party sellers previously to use the week of Oct. 5 as a “placeholder date” for Prime Day promotions and coupons. Additionally, in a separate email, Amazon warehouse workers were told no new vacation requests would be accepted between October 13th and October 20th.

So all the signs points to Prime Day starting on October 13 and if you have any major purchases planned, it could be a good idea to wait until then to see what deals you can get. With Prime Day and the holiday shopping season so close together, it should be a busy few months at Amazon.
