Now Live, How to redeem Ultimate Rewards Points for Up to 1.5¢ on Groceries, Home Improvement and Restaurant Purchases
I wrote two days ago about a major redemption option added to Chase Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred credit cards. With the ‘Pay Yourself Back’ feature, our Ultimate Rewards points will be worth 50% or 25% more, respectively, when redeemed for every day purchases in the initial categories of:
- grocery stores,
- home improvement stores
- dining, including restaurants, takeout and eligible delivery services.
How to Redeem
Now this option is live today on May 31, and you can start redeeming your points with the added value. Here’s how it works:
- Go to Pay Yourself Back page and log in
- Select an eligible transaction (you will see a list of all transaction that qualify, and how many days left to redeem)
- Set the amount (either full amount, or enter partial amount manually)
- Confirm and redeem.
The website seems to still have some hiccups for now, but I was able to redeem for several grocery purchases. The option will be available through September 30, 2020 fo rnow. Sapphire Reserve cardmembers’ points will be worth 1.5¢, and 1.25¢ for Sapphire Preferred cardmembers, when redeemed in eligible categories.
