News Roundup

This is a roundup of news that I have come across during the day. Here you can read about millions of people who took advantage of financial hardship programs, Hyatt Place the best brand, CDC says coronavirus ‘does not spread easily’ on surfaces or objects, Uber Eats launches ‘Family Style Meals’ and Amazon Prime Day pushed to September.

Millions took advantage of financial hardship programs in April for credit cards and auto loans

The number of borrowers not making payments on their credit cards and auto loans rose by thousands of percentage points in April as nearly 15 million credit cards and 3 million auto loans were placed in financial hardship programs.

No Doubt About It, Hyatt Place Is My Favorite Hotel Brand

“I think the Hyatt Place brand is the best thing since sliced bread. Not St. Regis, Park Hyatt, Conrad or Intercontinental brands, none of those brands hold a candle to my favorite. I promise I have not gone crazy so let’s get into the reasons why I think Hyatt Place is all that and a bag of chips.”

CDC says coronavirus ‘does not spread easily’ on surfaces or objects

Recent guidance issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sheds new light on how coronavirus spreads through surfaces. Though there is the possibility that coronavirus could be transmitted by touching a surface — and then your nose, mouth or eyes — the likelihood of that is lower than person-to-person contact, which is believed to be the primary way coronavirus is transmitted.

Uber Eats launches ‘Family Style Meals’

Uber’s food delivery platform is launching a tool that lets families get more value and savings when placing meal orders at a time when more Americans are financially squeezed. The company announced the new feature called “Family Style Meals” Wednesday. It’s located in the Uber Eats app and features meals meant for sharing.

Amazon Prime Day Will Be In September

Wall Street Journal reports that Amazon has decided on September for its annual Prime Day event. Amazon pushed it off from the typical July dates due to the coronavirus pandemic. Amazon is also attempting to return to normal in shipping non-essential goods.
