Amazon Launches Prime Video Cinema for New Releases

With movie theaters closed and people locked in during the coronavirus pandemic, Amazon has launched a new hub called Amazon Prime Video Cinema. It features movies that would have been released in theaters right now if life was still normal. The new service allows you to rent or buy recently released movies and watch them right away from the comfort of your home.

Currently there are only four offerings, Onward, The Invisible Man, Emma, and The Hunt. You can only purchase Onward for now, and the other three are digital rentals. Rentals are available for 48 hours. Both the rental and purchase are priced at $19.99. That is much more than what we are used to paying for movies at home and more expensive than a movie ticket. But if you are watching it as a family, then it ends up being cheaper.

  1. $19.99 is not a bad deal, considering paying for gas to get there, if a family of 3 or 4 goes, inflated food costs.
