United Airlines New Schedule Change Policy is Outrageous

United Airlines has made an outrageous update to its schedule change policy. Until now if there was a schedule change of more than two hours for your flight, you could request a refund from the airline. But since Saturday, that timeframe has changed to 25 hours. Yes you read that right. Your flight schedule change needs to be more than 25 hours for United Airlines to issue a refund. So if you are scheduled to fly today and United has a schedule change and rebooks you at the same time tomorrow, you are not owed a refund.

“We do everything we can to rebook customers in as timely a manner as possible,” a spokeswoman for United Airlines said. But this could happen often, as United has no option but to delay you by 24 hours on routes that have only one flight daily. This can mess up your connections, your hotel stays and your travel plans altogether. And what is the reason for this change? Here’s their explanation:

“We recently announced a significant reduction of our international and domestic schedules and as a result, we expect more customers to be impacted than normal. This policy change allows us to accommodate our customers by offering more options to rebook their flights.”

So they are doing this to offer you more rebooking options apparently! Well, thank you United… I guess.
