JetBlue and Norwegian Air Partnership for Transatlantic Travel

JetBlue and Norwegian Air are planning a new partnership enabling passengers flying between Europe and the United States to continue to multiple destinations under a single booking, potentially boosting traffic and average fares. The two companies have signed a letter of intent for the interline agreement. The new partnership could come into effect in the middle of next year. Partner flights would be bookable on both airlines’ websites in early 2020.

The new partnership means that passengers will be able to book connecting flights with both airlines online in a single reservation. It connects JetBlue flights from around 100 cities in the Americas to Norwegian’s network in New York, Boston and Fort Lauderdale and more than 20 European destinations. So this agreement, could bring cheaper fares to more cities on both sides of the Atlantic.

Norwegian already has a European partnership with London Gatwick-based easyJet, but until now lacked a U.S. partner.

JetBlue is also preparing to launch flights from Boston and New York to London in 2021. So this partnership will be beneficial, offering JetBlue passengers a larger footprint in Europe
