New Ibotta Automatic Cashback Option

Ibotta is a cashback app that rewards you for the shopping you already do. You can buy groceries, electronics, furniture etc and earn cashback from the app. It also has a “Earn More” option on the main navigation bar to get even more cash back with Bonuses and Streaks. Streaks are a new way to earn extra cash back when you buy the same brand or product over multiple shopping trips. You can sign up here to get a $5 bonus to get started.

One drawback that the app has is that you need to upload a receipt to get cashback. But now they have introduced Ibotta Automatic Cashback. It let’s you redeem offers automatically without having to upload any receipts. You just link up your loyalty account for your favorite stores, add the offers that you plan to redeem and cashback is applied automatically.

Not all retailers are available. You need to go to a specific retailer. There, you will see the option to Link Loyalty Card at the top of the offers for that retailers. Here’s how it shows for Giant Eagle for example:

In order to redeem offers using a loyalty account, you must add (+) all offers to Your List prior to shopping, and scan your card or enter your account’s phone number at check out. Hopefully you’ll find some of your favorite retailers included in the new Ibotta Automatic Cashback option.

  1. Ditto, tried the automatic option twice, and it DIDN”T WORK! Keep scanning receipts, at least for Kroger stores.

  2. Been an Ibotta fan since they started but the automatic process with Mariano’s diesn’t Work so I’m back to scanning receipts.

    • Stop&Shop doesn’t have the automatic option, and that’s where I do most of my shopping. So it’s scanned receipts for me too for now. 😟
