American Express has a program called Amex Offers that most readers should be familiar with. They usually involve spending a certain amount at e merchant in order to get a statement credit. You can see most recent Amex Offers here. One issue with these offers is that sometimes you only have them in some of your American Express cards and not necessarily on the cards you want them. For example a Hilton Amex Offer would be best maximized with a Amex Hilton Aspire card in order to stack it with the resort credit.

Today Doctor of Credit posted about a trick that will let you add a specific Amex Offer to any American Express card that you want. It involves the American Express Connect website where you can add Amex Offers to third party Amex cards. You should be able to see all Amex Offer there.

add Amex Offers to Any Card trick

Find the offer you want and click ‘Add to Card’. You will then proceed to enter the information for any American Express credit card, such as Amex Hilton Aspire for the “Spend $250, get $50 back” offer. Once you enter your information, you should see e message saying that you can only enroll for this offer by logging into your American Express Account.

Click the link to sign-in and the offer you previously weren’t targeted for could show up in your selected card with the ability to add it to your account. I tested it with my Hilton card and I did see the Hilton offer. If it doesn’t work, you can log out and try again.

Guru’s Wrap-up

A pretty helpful trick that takes care of the randomness of targeted Amex Offers. This way you can maximize your savings but using the card that makes more sense for that specific spending category. You can also use it to add the cash version of any offer to a card that already has the Membership Rewards offer, as you can use each offer once per person. Let me know how it works out for you.
