Chase Ultimate Rewards points are one of the most valuable travel point currencies out there. You can transfer them to many travel partners or just use them directly in the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal for a value of anywhere between 1 cent and 1.5 cents per point.
But that could soon change, and for the better. A rumor, coming from Award Travel 101, says that the value of Ultimate Rewards points could be increased for those who have a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. If this rumor is true, you would be able to redeem points at 1.5 cents and 1.75 cents respectively through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal. That’s tremendous value for a straight forward redemption,.
Not only would this boost the value of the CSP and CSR cards but also other Ultimate Rewards earning credit cards such as Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited. You can transfer those points to a CSP or CSR card and use them at a value of 1.5-1.75 cents each.
This is obviously just a rumor, coming from a Chase branch worker that mentioned an email from corporate. Not sure how credible that it, but it seems too good to be true. Would be unbelievable for Chase to add that much value to its cards without taking something away or increasing fees to balance it out. They’re already loosing millions on credit card rewards.
