Chase Partners With SBE Hotels for Exclusive Sapphire Benefits (4th Night Free, Upgrades, $30 Credit)

Chase Sapphire announced today a new relationship with SBE Hotels, a Los Angeles-based hospitality group that includes properties such as SLS, Delano, Mondrian and Hyde hotels. SBE operates a portfolio of 24 hotel properties in total. The benefits for Sapphire cardholders include complimentary food and drink credits, upgrades, and for every four consecutive nights booked at sbe owned and managed properties, cardmembers will receive the fourth night free.

Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers who book through sbe’s dedicated reservation page will enjoy a variety of benefits at participating sbe properties, such as the SLS, Delano, Mondrian and Hyde hotels. Benefits include:

  • Fourth night free, for every 4 consecutive nights booked
  • $30 hotel credit per room, eligible towards food and beverage
  • Complimentary upgrades for hotel rooms (when available)
  • Daily continental breakfast for two people
  • Complimentary Wifi access
  • Late check out (when available)

Cardmembers must present the Sapphire Reserve card used for booking at the time of check-in and use the same Sapphire Reserve card to pay for the full bill at check-out to receive the benefits.

Additionally, Chase Sapphire Reserve and Preferred cardmembers will have access to select sbe exclusive activations and events surrounding popular music, culture and art festivals, including sbe’s long-standing culinary event, Taste of sbe in Miami, FL. Details on these offerings will be shared in the coming months.

Guru’s Wrap-up

Chase is looking to offer something similar to Fine Hotels & Resorts from American Express. The benefits you get with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card could be great, if prices are the same as booking directly. But it seems that booking through this partnership gives higher prices. The fourth night free should still make it a better deal, but not by much.
