Lost Luggage; American Airlines One of The Worst, Spirit is Best

Lost and damaged luggage is one of the biggest issues for flyers. Imagine you have a vacation planned and you get to your destination and everything you brought along is gone. If you want to better your chances then you need to check out Department of Transportation’s ranking of domestic airlines for mishandled luggage. The information comes from its latest Air Travel Consumer Report.

Lost Luggage airlines

Airlines were ranked based on the total number of reports each carrier received from passengers concerning lost, damaged, delayed or pilfered baggage. The top airline will surely surprise you. Spirit came out on top with an average of just 1.84 per 1,000 passengers. That might be because they have less luggage to handle since they charge for those. At the other end of the spectrum is Envoy Air with 6.21. In fourth place for the worst we find one of the major carriers, American Airlines with 4.34 per 1,000 passengers.
